Infinite Bits recently passed adn though the conventin was small as many first year conventions are, it was infinitely fun. The cleaning lady pwned my scythe for Marluxia on the first day, but my dad and I were able to save it with a couple of tie braces for the next two. At least that, and now it appears that I will have to make a new blade for it for a more permanent solution. Oh well, not the worst thing in the world to happen.
The costume contest was a lot of fun. It was the first time I have ever judged one and it certainly was a fun and enriching expirience. I have always liked to see how people approach many of the problems involved in making a costume and I got to see some pertty funky solutions. One cosplayer had this mystery fabric that no one on the board seemed to know what on earth it was. I don't believe he knew either, and another one presented us with a jar that was supposed to be full of pee, but if that was really pee, well that's the fruitiest urine I have ever smelled. Still it was impressive and rigth on the money for the character. There was even a cosplayer that was only 13 and made her own bomberman cosplay. I have to say the most impressive was the best in show Super Smash group. They had a pair fo baby girls for their iceclimbers and they themselves weren't missing an inkling of detail. It was fantastic. I'm so glad I had a chance to participate in this event and do hope to do it for future events.
The business aspect fo the convention aside, It was a lot of fun to hang out with some friends I don't get a chance to see very often, and to head out to dinner afterwards. We were even discussing doing a large cosplay group for future conventions. I think it would be cool if all the judges were cosplaying the same thing. We were leaning towards a Pokemon Gijinka group, which can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it and in the end can turn out amazingly.
Well that does it for Infinite Bits. If you didn't attend this year, definiatly give it a go next year. It's worth it.
On a more personal note I'm very excited about my Birthday coming up. It's in a few days. Unfortunatly, I haven't the slightest what to ask for. I have had a fwe friends and family ask what I would like, but I'm the sort of person that is content with the simpler things in life. I guess I will be happy with whatever. I thnk the surprise and suspense is what excites me.
I have also decided to put the Haunted House comic on the back burner for the time being. I have recently been working on another script for a more child oriented cartoon show. It doesn't have an official name yet, but the characters are all worked out and the scripts are in the making. I'm hoping once I get it all done to pitch it to a big cooperation. Wish me luck!
